What we say:

On the main road that runs along the length of Karon Beach, the Sea Sands resort is set back far enough to offer plenty of space and privacy for its guests. Prices are high but so are the standards. The rooms are chic and modern with a few carefully-chosen decorative touches to remind you what country you're in. All rooms are more or less identical with air-con, separate shower and bathtub, satellite TV, fridge, coffee-maker, and a daybed at the window — the only difference is that from the 10 pricier rooms you can slip directly into the pool from your balcony. Most of the bathrooms have windows that open up to the rest of the room which is quite bizarre given this place was filled with families. There's WiFi throughout the resort and a spa, mini-mart, and three restaurants on site (Thai, Indian, and a Western cafe). Beware of compulsory holiday gala dinners.
