Karon Cafe

A good spot for sleeping and eating

Running since 1989, the Karon Cafe has some decent rooms above its excellent restaurant. The rooms all have air-con, satellite TV, mini-bars, spotless shower stalls, and IDD phones. It's a tight fit in the small rooms, but the others are more spacious and have room for an extra bed. Facilities are minimal, but there's free WiFi and you can pay a token fee to use the pool at the nearby Pacific Club. Rates include taxes but not breakfast.

Karon Cafe reviews

Good but was better - 16th June, 2009
I've stay at Karon cafe (or their sister hotel Las Margaritas) for a couple of weeks each year since 2005. The restaurants on the first floor offer a good selection with quality ingredients. The hotel itself is well maintained and very clean. The rooms are cleaned daily. All amenities work and it does offer WiFi access for a nominal fee. A few words of warning: - Las Margaritas overlooks the bars at the corner - there is significant noise until about 1 - 2 am if your room faces Soi Islandia. This is not a problem if you are part of a crowd, but can become an issue if you are diving early the following morning. - Karon Cafe - Quieter but unfortunately a neighbour in the building behind Karon Cafe has a small pack (4 or 5) of mini-Dobermans she keeps on the balcony, about 4 meters from your window. The little mutts bark constantly (this is a new event, during 2005, 2006 and 2007 my stay at Karon was wonderful). That said, Karon Cafe is a good choice - very clean, family oriented, and excellent staff.
