Description
We do think they've taken the aquatic mammal theme a little too far, but this place is still worth checking out -- especially if you have the kids in tow. The Whale has a great central location, and it's just 50m to Karon beach or the cluster of restaurants and shopping on Patak Rd. The 64 rooms are tastefully decorated and all have air-con, bathtubs, satellite TV and mini-fridges. The superior rooms with balconies facing the pool and gardens are worth the slight bump up in price. The pool-side restaurant is open from 6:00 to 23:30 for your incredibly-early or late-night dining needs, and the resort keeps a baby-sitter on call. Big discounts are offered in the low season and rates include breakfast.
