This cluster of bungalows is set behind a 7-eleven and up a steep hill that can be a bit of a nightmare to clamber up in the wee hours of the morning.
If climbing during the day, you will be overjoyed to first see the pool at Kata On Sea ,but most likely disappointed in the rooms. The place has however been popular with backpackers for some time, and it seems that this is one place that hasn't hacked up its prices. Rooms are basic but spacious, with good views of the hills and the town below — and yes, from some rooms you can see the ocean — way off in the distance. The prices are just what we like to see and Kata On Sea attracts a lot of long-term visitors — it's normally full in the high season, so call ahead if you can. WiFi is available for a 50B starting fee.
