Run by an American expat and his wife Tik, Tik's Place tries hard to make the best of what it's got. The rooms are fine -- a good combination of wood and tile finish -- though they don't have much spark. What they do have is big bathrooms, queen-sized beds, big fridges, a safe, satellite TV, air-con, coffee maker and even a microwave oven! That's a lot of swag for this price range. Small wonder it's popular with long-term visitors. Tik's place won't be opening for guests in the depths of low season anymore (August and September) due to lack of visitors at this time. If you're really stuck, check again with them as policies like this do tend to change like the weather in Thailand.
