In every way, the Katanoi Bay Inn is a very typical budget hotel. They have a long list of room types comprising of standard fan or air-con rooms with one double or two single beds, plus pricier rooms that are larger, more attractively furnished, and have a better view and private balcony. The standard rooms are a bit austere and have firm mattresses with those awful, fuzzy yellowish-brown blankets that are all too common in Thailand. Otherwise, every room has the features that really matter to budget travelers -- a mini-fridge, TV with English channels, and a hot shower. Plus, you're only 20 metres from the beach. There's a restaurant and small Internet cafe downstairs, but that's about it in the way of facilities. The American breakfast will set you back 150B and, come evening, the large restaurant is a popular place for seafood and thin-crust Italian pizzas. During the high season the rooms are greatly over-priced, and the Kata Noi Pavilion down the road is a better deal. However, during Kata's very quiet low season, the rates here are an absolute bargain, making this an especially appealing choice if you're seeking some peace and quiet.
