Kata Palm Resort
A good mid-range resort

What we say:
Kata Palm is another good midrange resort midway along the off beach road, with standard rooms that are all pretty much overlooking the pool. The deluxe rooms are better, with notable bathrooms, and while they're on the upper floor, what they lose in pool access they gain in privacy. Upon entering the lobby, service is prompt and it's quite clear why — they don't want their customers roasting in the sauna-like lobby. Despite its tendency to overheat, the lobby is, shall we say, interesting to look at. They took decorating the property in classic Thai a bit too far with blasts of gold and red. Gardens are lush, with towering palms and a tropical feel. Popular with families.
