Description
Set behind Club Med, Dome is a good, semi-budget resort spread over a big lawn garden around a pond. The rooms are standard fare, clean and comfortable and come with TV, fridge and hot shower. The bungalows are semi-detached, so you can hear pretty much everything going on in the room next door. The atmosphere around the resort feels a bit subdued and apart from the restaurant, that's always deserted, opportunities to meet other people are few and far between. Staff are friendly and overall this is a good close-to-the-beach budget option. All rates include breakfast.

One of Kata's older hotels,The Kata Sun Beach Inn remains bright and clean, but is very forgettable. What it lacks in atmosphere is at least partly redeemed by its central location -- it's on the main road through town, just south of Mom Tri's Boat House, so the best of Kata's shopping,... more

You'll find the entrance to the Kata Rock Inn by going through the bar that fronts the street, though the rooms are perched on the hill behind it, set in tiers above a big-arsed rock. Once you climb up, you'll find small but roomy air-con doubles, clean with nice bathrooms and standard hotel-style... more
