Description
It's an absolute eye sore from the beach and completely blocks the road to Ao Sane, but on the inside the Royal Phuket Yacht Club is dripping with old-world charm and luxury. The rooms are surprisingly large with expansive balconies and offer a high standard of privacy and gorgeous views across to Promthep Cape. The decor is down-right stunning with hand-carved teak furniture, sunken granite tubs in the bathrooms, and four poster beds with sumptuous linens and silky mosquito nets that are more for aesthetics than function. Everything here, from the gourmet restaurants to the 24-hour butler service to the East India schooner (available for private charter), is first class. On the other hand, prices are exorbitant and the staff can be snooty and abrupt. Of course, a lot of people think it's worth the price, but we're pretty dubious. The following are discounted online rates but do not include taxes and surcharges.
