Description
Owned by expats (notice the Swiss and Aussie flags?), the oddly named Golddigger's Resort endeavours to emulate Aussie mid-range standards. The result is a very practical and comfortable little resort that's proven to be a hit -- you'll definitely want to book ahead. There's only 20 rooms and all have satellite TV, hot showers, and a mini-fridge. It's a kid-friendly place with a decent swimming pool and on-site restaurant. It's a bit of a walk to the beach, but they staff will gladly give you a ride there and back. The resort isn't anything spectacular, but the unbelievably helpful staff make all the difference. Recommended for families on a budget.

Kasalong Phuket Resort
9 Moo 5, Sakoo Rd, Nai Yang
Kasalong is a passable mid-range resort, but its location in the middle of a low-rent neighbourhood in Nai Yang village left us perplexed us. The grounds are well manicured and there's a large pool surrounded by chaise loungers, but the two long lines of boring concrete bungalows undermine their... more
