The headquarters for Sirinath National Marine Park can be found just north of Nai Yang Beach on the way toward Mai Khao. There's a visitors centre, public washrooms, and a small restaurant open from 8:00 to 21:00. It's possible to camp and some new bungalows were under construction when we last visited in mid 2008. The beach is 'au naturel' here, meaning parts of it are very scruffy and some of the shore is lined with mangrove forests. The park is one of the few places left on Phuket where you can get close to nature (monkey shows don't count!), but if you've come to swim and enjoy the beach you'll be better off in Nai Yang town.

* Travelfish researchers visit and review properties on an anonymous basis. By that we mean they show up, in person, and pretend to be either be a potential guest, or somebody looking for a room for a friend or relative. Where possible the researcher will inspect at least a couple of rooms. The rates you see above are what either the desk staff told us they were, or what were in the brochure when they just told us to quit bugging them and look in the brochure. For mid-range hotels and up, always shop around online for a competitive rate. Click here to find out more about what makes Travelfish different with regards our accommodation reviews.
