Like the Bel-Aire, The Thaweewong Sap is another mansion type guesthouse right on Patong Beach. Again, it's not much to look at from the outside but the inside is far, far better that you'd expect. The rooms have been recently renovated and now have lots of elaborately carved wooden furniture, new bathrooms, and softer beds. All rooms have satellite TV, mini-fridges and hot water, but no balconies. The style is surprisingly upmarket for the price range, and you'd pay a lot more anywhere else for a similar room with a similar view of the beach. The value here is unbeatable during the peak season, and big discounts (down to 700B/night) are given for long stays in the off months. Credit cards are accepted for a 3% charge.
