Description
The brochure and website make it look better than it is, but Patong Villa is still a decent mid-range choice near Patong Beach. You'll have to pass through a small shopping complex to find the entrance, but the effect is positive and gives the resort increased privacy. The rooms are in a two-level longhouse -- the standards on the ground level and the deluxes on the upper level with a balcony -- and all have air-con, a telephone, an in-room safe, a mini-bar, and a bathroom with hot water and a shower/tub. Although perfectly functional, the rooms are mediocre and aren't ageing well. The free-standing bungalows are somewhat larger and have a sofa, but otherwise very similar. The pool isn't bad but could benefit from some more chairs and a bit of shade. You can find better value elsewhere, but not this close to the beach.

2 Chalerm Phra Kiat Rd, Patong Beach
Offering fully kitted out apartments, The Swiss Palm Beach is a shockingly good value for your money. There are a couple of one-bedroom units, but most... more

Eden Bungalows
1 Chalerm Phra Kiat Rd, Patong Beach
Set in a fragrant garden blooming with purple orchids, Eden has big air-con bungalows with modern trimmings. It's not too far from the beach, but tucked away enough into its own little spot that it hardly feels like the rest of Patong. The bungalows are spacious and well-kept, although the style is... more

Baan Laimai
66 Thaweewong Rd, Patong Beach
Baan Laimai's terrace seafood restaurant overshadows the hotel itself, but it remains a passable spot and and really, really close to the beach. The rooms are spacious with tiled floors, teak furniture and big balconies, but they're looking a little worn around the edges and the paisley floral... more

Salathai Resort
10/4 Sawatdirak Rd, Patong Beach
Not too far from the beach, Salathai is a charming little resort with only 40 rooms. There's a Thai theme throughout the property but it's understated and tasteful. Although they're clean and well-appointed, the rooms here won't knock your socks off. The suites are large but were missing some of... more

Baan Sukhothai Hotel
70 Bangla Rd, Patong Beach
You could walk up and down busy Bangla Road every night yet completely miss the lovely Baan Sukhothai Hotel. Tucked away on lush green grounds with gardens and tranquil ponds, this is one of the most charming and peaceful hotels we found in all of Patong. Yeah, that's right, it's just off Bangla... more
