In the cluster of cheapies across from the Christin Massage complex, Casa Jip stands out by not feeling sleazy what-so-ever. In fact, this was one of our favourite spots in Phuket and not just because of their super-reasonable prices. Even starting with the shopfront reception with its single Angkorian bas relief, Casa Jip has a minimalist elegance about it. There are 30 rooms -- 20 deluxe and 10 budget -- and all are immaculately clean and homey. Each room has air-con, a TV, and hot shower, and upgrading to a larger deluxe room also adds a mini-bar and safe. Guests staying in the deluxe rooms can choose to have breakfast served directly to their room which, depending how late you stayed out, is worth every extra baht. Casa Jip is run by the lovely Jip and her Italian husband and their hospitality and friendliness are out-standing. Recommended.
