Located down a small soi running away from the beach off Rat-U-Thit 200 Pee Rd, just to the north of Hat Patong Road, the Ruen Buathong is a bright new guesthouse and represents fantastic value. Built in October 2010, the friendly owners have 16 rooms — each one is bright with touches that make you feel like you are at a home with really good art. Rooms are white, sunny and have soft beds, coffee- and tea-making facilities, free WiFi, minibar, flat screen TVs and modern high-quality bathrooms. You can get a standard room with single, twin or a double bed, and the deluxe rooms are significantly bigger, with a seating area situated around the mini-bar. Aim for a room on the top floor for unobstructed views. Continental breakfast included. If the place had a pool, it would be fair to call it perfect.
