When we walked into the Baan Thonglor we felt the familial atmosphere, especially since one of the owner’s sons was manning the desk. Located on a small street off the busy main road, this is a gem of a guesthouse. The house – and it really is a house – has enormous rooms, free WiFi and a lovely outdoor seating area off the lobby/family living room. The small rooms are larger than most deluxe rooms in other establishments, with a giant bed, en suite bathroom and wooden floors and walls. The shower and toilet are located seperately and have some tacky features. The big rooms are bigger than most apartments in New York, with a bed big enough for an entire family, small table and chairs, massive closets and a nice bathroom. This is a good spot for families travelling on a budget, but there is no pool. However, your children will enjoy the toys scattered about and portraits of puppies on the walls.
