Mediocre beach rooms with a great price

What we say:

It's really hard to say anything unkind about a hotel that has its reception in an ice cream parlour and so it is with the Time Out Hotel in Patong. What is good here is that the rooms are a very good size — they should have no problem fitting in an extra bed — and the location, above an ice cream parlour, facing straight onto Patong Beach, simple couldn't be better. Size aside though, the rooms are just ok and were looking very worn when we visited in the middle of 2011. The better rooms are the deluxe which have a balcony, but either option makes for a reasonable beachside option if you don't want to shell out top dollar. Do try the ice cream on the ground floor — it's good!
