Just off the beach, this place looks like a firetrap, but if you're willing to risk it, Bel Aire is a good little guesthouse with hotel-style rooms. Much better on the inside than it looks from the outside, their front rooms look straight out over Patong beach -- some of the rooms have two bay windows meeting at an angle, allowing almost 180 degree vistas. The rooms are well furnished and decorated, if in a slightly playboy mansion-esque style. There's no sign outside at present, but you'll find it opposite a tailor and above a travel agency. It is a little on the noisy side, but for the money this is outstanding value. All rooms have air-con and the usual trimmings.

not pretty on the outside,but inside is clean,great price, very friendly people.we stayed for a week,and will go back soon,800B per night,fantastic value.
