Description
The Patong Bayshore is pleasant enough, but it's location in the middle of busy Rat-u-thit Rd. works against it in a number of ways. Certain aspects of the resort, like the pool area, are more crowded than they should be and the longhouse style set-up of the rooms is both unattractive and sacrifices guests' privacy. The more expensive rooms in the new Bayshore Wing are larger and have less of a mass-produced feel to them. Otherwise, all rooms are cosy and chic with the usual trimmings and open up onto well-manicured gardens. The traffic noise can be a pain and it's a bit of a walk to the beach. Rates include tax and breakfast for two.

A mid-sized boutique hotel with 47 rooms, the Patong Premier Resort is a chic spot that's equally suitable for romantic getaways and family vacations. The entire resort is heavy on the oriental-style with lots of Angkorian carvings, dark wood and silk, but it's done in a reasonably tasteful way and... more
