What we say:

Rawai Beach Guesthouse is located just outside the southern end of town on the road to Laem Phromthep and is a great option for those travelling solo. The two-storey house is over a decade old but the current owner opened in 2010 and has everything covered. Rooms are massive and some of the private bathrooms even bigger. Rooms on the second floor have spacious sitting decks and great views of Rawai Bay. Sit on one of the house's many decks and enjoy a book from the communal collection or rest up in the comfort of air-con on your huge bed – beware, you may not get up. As it's a walk from the busy bit of Rawai, you will want to rent a motorbike from the owners to get around. When we last passed in August 2011 the guesthouse had a for sale sign out front, so drop them a line before showing up.
