The Surin Sweet Hotel might not look like much from the outside, but hidden behind its plain exterior you'll find... (drum-roll please)... some equally plain rooms. With air-con, a small TV, and a couple rattan chairs the rooms are sufficiently comfortable and spacious enough, but some brightly-coloured bedsheets and curtains aren't enough to cover up the truth that the rooms are old and over-priced in the high season. The small pool out front is said to be the hotel's centrepiece, but it's on a rather stark, open piece of land -- like what you'd find at a community centre. However, the much more appealing Surin Beach is just across the street. Rates include breakfast at the downstairs restaurant (a buffet in high season, a la carte in low), which is otherwise closed during the low season.
