The Capri Beach Resort

A bella hotel-a

What we say: 3 stars

Passing it on the footpath, you probably wouldn't notice that there's a hotel above the Pensione Italian restaurant, but the columns and frescoes of the dining room continue through to the 18 rooms upstairs. Guests have the option of one king or two twin beds in their room, and all are air-con with small TV, minibar, and desk. The bathrooms are quite contemporary and all have hot water showers and bathtubs. The standard rooms don't have a window, but this doesn't detract too much from the style of the room. The superiors have balconies that face to the front (sea view) or back (mountain view) of the hotel, but are tiny with hardly enough room for a chair. Like everywhere else along Surin Beach, room prices get out of hand during the peak season. The walk in and online rates vary drastically — and if you walk in, be sure the catch the manager on a good day as he seems to adjust the prices according to his mood. Interesting marshmellow colour-scheme on the exterior.
