Hadthong Hotel
Prachuap's most luxurious

What we say:
Prachuap's most luxurious hotel may not exactly be five-star, but it offers good service and facilities at reasonable, if somewhat odd, prices. Do call ahead for a reservation if it is a weekend or just to guarantee yourself a room. A restaurant just past the lobby serves American breakfasts and is open through lunch and dinner. There's a small but cool and inviting pool on a veranda overlooking the Gulf.

Decent but Has Issues
The room and facilities were clean and inviting. The bed, however, was rock hard and the pillows even harder. The furnishings in the room were adequate, but old and needed replacing. The carpeting in our suite needed cleaning, but the room overall was comfortable. My biggest complaint was that the hotel's website indicated that room prices included breakfast, as did the front desk staff upon checking in. However, this wasn't the case when we went to eat. While the cost of breakfast was trivial, the misleading website and unsympathetic management left me feeling both cheated and frustrated. Other than this the hotel was fine, good even. The staff were friendly. The food was good and reasonably priced. The seaside view was exceptional.

Another vote
Another stay at this hotel confirms it's value. Room is quite small, but not tiny. Seaview rooms have a balcony, which is nice to sit and have an afternoon beer looking at the beautiful bay. Breakfast is sometimes buffet, sometimes from the menu, not sure why, but we had both over two mornings. The off the menu option actually gave you more options, although the buffet gave you more than one cup of coffee, which is always a plus! The pool is lovely, and hardly used, so very clean. And it has the Australia network on TV, so what more could you ask for! We threw the staff into panic when we went down to the basement to play some snooker / pool, but we managed to sort it out and play a few games (none of which I won, unfortunately). We think it was around 100 bahts - whether that was for an hour or for as long as we wanted, we couldn't work out.

Nice place
Clean and comfortable rooms. Helpful English-speaking staff. Next door is a great restaurant, Plern Smud, which is pricier than others in town. Pleasant view of bay. Nice neighborhood in a town that is well cared for. Quiet at night.

Super!
Very nice, pool overlooking the ocean, very clean rooms with cabel tv and fridge. The room rates stated above are all wrong, though. If you want a room with mountain view the cheaper ones (also with private bathroom, AC and big beds) are 600 and the luxury ones (bigger beds, better views) are 800. If you want ocean view the cheaper ones are 800 and the luxury ones are 1000.In the luxury rooms you also get a bath tub. Very nice hotel. We loved it there. Almost no tourists around, which is remarkable with it being high season and all...
