Little Italy

Stylish bungalows and a real Italian chef

What we say: 4.5 stars

While Little Italy is more of a restaurant than a resort, they do offer two bungalows and the quality is such that we're compelled to recommend them almost above all others on the island — if you're lucky enough for one of the rooms to be open that is. Two storey dark wood and bamboo bungalows are set down a path no more than 100 metres from the beach, and if specifically talking quality of rooms and value, Little Italy's are Ko Chang Noi's best. Wooden spiral staircases connect the upper porches to the bathrooms downstairs, which are spacious and break from Ko Chang Noi's strictly functional bathroom trend by including some thoughtful touches like porcelain bowl sinks and an artsy blue-orange colour scheme. Upstairs the dark wooden raised porch includes a small bench with table, and inside rooms are not huge but stylish and very well designed with six windows of varying sizes to let the breeze through at night. Beds are hard and this is still rustic living, but in a more elegant way. Little Italy is also home to an outstanding authentic Italian restaurant (see the Eat & Meet section), and the relaxed Italian and Thai owners will set you up with a delicious Sicilian style breakfast in the morning. Little Italy is also one of the few accommodation options open all year, although in low season you might have to settle for whatever the chef feels like cooking.
