What we say:

This quite large and long-established resort is by far the most popular place on this beach and is usually full during high season. It has a high number of regular repeat customers and the resort also has its share of families with young children in spite of the fairly rudimentary bungalows, which come in a hotch-potch of different styles and prices. Old bungalows get pulled down and/or new ones built every year and the restaurant seems to get totally redesigned most years too. A few bungalows have glaring design faults (one double bungalow for instance has doors with windows in them but no curtains for privacy) but most are functional enough and many people stay for extended periods. This is reflected in the fact that long term here means more than a month if you're looking for a discount. The budget rooms at the back are the cheapest accommodation on this beach and the older front bungalows are moderately priced too, though last season a couple of newly built concrete beachfront bungalows came with a significant price hike. There was a plan to pull down all the old back bungalows so their cheapest bungalows may be gone by next season. The food at the restaurant is consistently good and not too expensive so people from other resorts on the beach often come to eat here. Although it's a budget place, Vijit's offers above-average facilities in the way of extended electricity supplies in high season together with (rather sporadic) free WiFi in the restaurant area. The resort employs friendly and efficient Burmese staff and those working in the restaurant usually speak good English too.
