Suta House Bungalows
Bargain air-con rooms

What we say:
The bungalows at Suta House are set a good distance off Ruangrat Rd, so while they're close to Ranong's nightlife area they stay quiet at night. With front porches featuring tables and chairs, the bungalows are generally pleasant and each are decorated in a blue sky and clouds theme with light blue and white interiors. All come with simple but adequate hot water bathrooms, fridges and tiny TVs, but some are newer and bigger than others, and while several are clean and inviting others are very musty and dark, so make sure to check out a few before settling in. Beds are old, saggy and uncomfortable. There is an interesting restaurant with an Indian-Middle Eastern style tea shop, and WiFi is free for guests. While Suta House is still a solid option, it could use some renovations and overall it doesn't offer the same good value that it used to.

Getting Old
I'm not sure wjether it was juts my bungalow (last one on teh bottom) but I thought it was very run down and past it's used by date. Room was musty and although not dirty very basic, although also very cheap (I think 290 but can't be sure on that). Much better value was Dahla House which is about another 50 metres further down Ruangrat. Far more modern and bigger room (also bungalow style), and at 400 for fan and 500 for aircon I think a far better deal. Dahla the owner/manageress is also very sweet.

Not good value for money!
Suta Bungalows are located in a good spot in town, but it is quite a way from the pier. The rooms themselves are clean with shiny tiles, the bathroom is large with an all in one western toilet, then a shower rose then a sink. This was the first bed we came across in our travels where we felt we should put a travel blanket over the bed and bedspread which all looked dubious. The place had no character and the surrounds not very pleasant either. The bed was not comfortable, sagging in the middle. We paid 500B for this and I thought it was very poor value. Much better value is a place up the road called Le Sarin Chalet Resort email: lesarinchalet(at)yahoo.co.th, for the same price it has (meditteranean sort of) character, very clean and the shower, toilet and bathroom basin are all separate. Just a note - it should only cost you 50B to get there in a modern pickup truck from the pier, we got diddled the first time and paid a lot more! Also the staff here do not understand English very well, we asked them to cancel a forward booking and I think they confirmed it. Stick to the basics here!

Excellent!
If you happen to spend a few days in Ranong, if you are looking for a quiet, clean, and inexpensive place to stay, this is the place for you. Impeccable service, caring and smiling staff will make you feel at home!

Nice staff
Great place. I stay here every time I make a visa run to Myanmar. Clean, quiet rooms, good service, close to evening entertainment and restaurants. Cable TV with western movies is good as the town sleeps early.

Reasonable Price & Good Place
I think this guest house has a good cost performance. I stayed there only 1 night. I chose Room NO.21,the large room with air conditoner.Because the staff said other rooms with A/C were full. It costed 420B. The room is very clean and conftable to stay. The location is also good. There are a few good restaurants and cafe near the guest house.

Close to Nightlife
They also have a good restaurant just as you enter the road leading down to the Bungalows..the Korean BBQ @ 8o Baht is delicious. It is close to the Bar/entertainment area in Ranong. The beds are a bit firm!

Good place to stay
Small but comfy rooms, not too expensive. Showers have hot water. Room comes with drinking water, TV and air con. Frequently booked out.
