Thansila Resort
Riverside chalet

What we say:
Perched over a babbling stream down a shady and quiet soi off Phet Kasem Rd that's a ten minute walk to both the bus station and hot springs, Thansila's stylish, romantic setting make it an especially good option for couples willing to spend a little extra for ambience. Standard rooms are large and tastefully decorated with polished concrete floors, stone walls, dark hardwood furnishings, and soft, comfortable king sized beds with sumptuous linens. All rooms feature air-con and hot water showers and bathtubs in the large, clean and thoughtfully decorated bathrooms. While an extra 100B gets you a fridge, an upgrade to the more expensive rooms is worth it for the big windows and sitting area directly over the river. WiFi is free, there's a quality restaurant on site, and across the street there's even a swing hanging from a sprawling tree adorned with soft white lanterns.

Quiet Location. away from town center
We came in fairly big group of motorcyclists. So, we picked a various assortment of rooms. Love the rooms facing the river, though quite pricey but the set up is simply incredible. That one cost 800 baht. I stayed at ground floor room 450 baht. Room was large, with a king size bed. Clean sheets and towels. Air-con was a bit freezin' the resort has a nice fauna surrounding, making it looked cosy. Free WiFi is available, that was one thing we looked for. Also added to the package, it came with breakfast. The husband and wife, owners were very friendly though we have a bit of communication breakdown as both speaks limited English. The place has aura, and is located 500 metres to the hot pools. Convenient.

There was only one room with a balcony, we paid 800baht, room was quite nice but very small. Only problem was the massive amount of big ants that decided to come in and get on the bed about 12.30am. Woke up to lots of bites. Used a whole can of spray but they kept on coming!! Went and woke up guy at reception who did not speak English, showed him and his solution was to get a broom and sweep up all the dead ants from our floor at 1am. Could not understand we wanted another room so we stuck it out, eventually a huge ant with wings wandered in (the queen) she was quickly squashed and from then on the ants stopped coming in. Besides that the hotel was fine for the price

Hospitality +++
Clean, well maintained room with friendlym helpful people. Owners are lovely, quite simply lovely. Great value for $ - we are paying 400B for A/C double with Bath; much better than most similar rooms down South. 15 min walk from bus station.
