What we say:

Set on a lush hillside just past Thansila Resort and a half km from the hot springs, Rattana's offers enormous rooms fully equipped with one queen or two twin beds, air-con, hot water showers, fridge, TV, desk with plug in internet connection, couch with coffee table, and large front porch with a table big enough for four to share a meal. Some rooms also have a balcony out back, and doors are sliding screens so it's possible to let the air in without the bugs. The rooms are more like studio apartments and for all you get it is excellent value, the only drawback being that the rooms we saw were a tad musty and moist, although not overwhelmingly so. Rattana's is a very laid back spot with a few long-term expat residents, and the staff are a lively and humorous crew of ladies. As long as you joke around with them for a while they're very much willing to help with info on the area, and the owner will even drive guests to the pier for free if they want to stay at her brother's resort on Ko Chang Noi.
