Previously known as Ang Yee's House, this cosy guesthouse is still run by the same former rock-climbing instructor (hence the "cliff" in the name, we guess) but had changed considerably since our last visit.
Much of the art that previously made it so special had disappeared and the small heritage building had a rather sparse feel, especially in the lobby. On the other hand, the bar had been moved out back into an atmospheric garden that might be the best spot in Satun for relaxing with a drink. Relying on shared garden bathrooms with hot water and rainshowers, the rooms are Spartan and rather dark but still interesting thanks to creaky hardwood floors, dark olive/violet walls and a few antiques. The best air-con room has large glass doors and midnight blue drapes opening onto a balcony that overlooks the street. A first-floor room comes with two single beds that can be rented separately by solo travellers. Noise from the bar could be an issue at night. WiFi and bicycles are free for guests. Expect plenty of Bob Marley and upbeat conversation after dark, but also a less helpful owner/staff than at On's. To get here from the clock tower, walk straight south on Burivanich, pass On's and the Sinkiat Thani, take a right onto Tirasathat and you'll see Cliff's Man on the left.
