Louise Guesthouse
A very good budget option

What we say:
The Louise Guesthouse attracts a steady trade of backpackers who just cannot bear the rundown Cathay up the road. Rooms, while spartan are very clean and well looked after, and the location, justa short walk from both the train station and the shopping district, is excellent. Management are also very friendly. On the way up the stairs, be sure to check out the photos of Hat Yai when it was flooded. Arguably the best backpacker's option in Hat Yai.

Excellent Guest House in Hat Yai - Comfy, Clean & Convenient
Louise Guest House is strategically located in Central Hat Yai and within walking distance from Hat Yai Rail Station and other attractions. For 300 THB, I got myself a clean and comfy room with: a) Large bed b) Attached bathroom c) Fan d) Toilet roll e) Towels f) Complimentary Soaps g) And most importantly noise proof window panel for a good night sleep. Other than that, the elderly Thai Chinese boss is friendly and helpful. Check out my photo blog and travelogue to read more about my two days stay in Hat Yai: http://tinyurl.com/npaqh2 Cheers! mylo

OK, why not?
We stayed here 1 night after a transport bungle and it was ok, if not a little worn. The rooms are big and is in a good location with a large department store and supermarket on the doorstep. Seeing that Hat Yai is not too popular, the place seemed empty. The owner is nice and friendly.
