Baan Tao
Good value but tightly-packed

What we say:
Located opposite Wat Ko Tao and the local primary school, Baan Tao Bungalow is a short walk from the centres of Mae Haad and Sairee but provides a more peaceful alternative. Though it has no restaurant of its own, plenty of fine dining is not too far away. Baan Tao offers laundry service, and there is a small shop/bookstore located nearby at Mr J.'s. The beach is about five minutes' away by foot. Baan Tao's well-kept bungalows are comfortable and affordable, making it popular among backpackers. The good-sized huts line a hillside path shaded by plenty of trees, and each has a small deck with chairs.

Good if you don't mind a little exercise
Paid 300 a night back in Nov. 2005 for a fan bungalow. Was nice, had to walk up a reasonably steep hill to get to our room, but no big deal really. Friendly people let us stay in their huge office room for one night when we first got there since they were full. Good location, very close to the barbed wire fence shortcut to the nice beach.
