Description
Blue Diamond Dive Resort, while specialising in PADI certification and recreational scuba diving, caters not only to divers but also backpackers and high-end travellers. All rooms here are well-priced, and discounts are given to divers. The multi-lingual staff is possibly the friendliest and most helpful around. Located south of the pier in Mae Haad, Blue Diamond is very conveniently located but also tucked away in a quiet location with grassy lawns and lots of trees. The cheaper fan bungalows are fairly primitive but are spacious and clean (although the beds vary greatly in firmness and comfort), while the sea view and family rooms are much sturdier and well-equipped. Blue Diamond's beachfront restaurant serves delicious and inexpensive Thai and western cuisine and provides the perfect place to view an unforgettable sunset. Internet, laundry service and a fully-stocked professional dive shop are also provided. The only annoyance here seems to be the gang of rogue roosters that live nearby and whose calls can be heard at all hours.
