Shark Bay Bungalows stretch almost the length of Thian Ok Bay. The charming little round huts are a little spendy but are in great shape and very comfortable. The thatch roofs make it feel like living in a small island village -- you pretty much will be. Bungalows are privately spaced around large, open grounds and each has a good-sized deck. The newly completed polished Thai Redwood beach villas are high class and well appointed and the price reflects this. Guests will have their own concierge and enjoy being beachside whilst lounging on their spacious deck. All rooms have a fridge, TV and DVD player with ensuite bathroom. Thian Ok is peaceful and the bay is great for snorkelling and kayaking.Equipment can be rented from the small beach bar (mask and snorkel or fins: 100B/day;mask snorkel and fins: 150B/day; kayaks: 200B/hour, 500B/half day, 1000B/day). The tiny beach bar/restaurant provides a sanctuary from the sun and offers decent priced food and drinks but doesn't reflect the class of the accommodation offered.

* Travelfish researchers visit and review properties on an anonymous basis. By that we mean they show up, in person, and pretend to be either be a potential guest, or somebody looking for a room for a friend or relative. Where possible the researcher will inspect at least a couple of rooms. The rates you see above are what either the desk staff told us they were, or what were in the brochure when they just told us to quit bugging them and look in the brochure. For mid-range hotels and up, always shop around online for a competitive rate. Click here to find out more about what makes Travelfish different with regards our accommodation reviews.
