Shark Bay Bungalow is a small, laid-back operation toward the east of Thian Ok Bay. The charming little round huts here are a little spendy but are in great shape and very comfortable. The thatch roofs make it feel like living in a small island village -- you pretty much will be. Bungalows are privately spaced around large, open grounds and each has a good-sized deck. The staff here are very relaxed and not the most attentive, especially when there's muay Thai on the tube. Thian Ok is a happening place though parts can be very peaceful. The bay is great for snorkelling and kayaking, and equipment can be rented at Shark Bay (snorkels: 50B/day; kayaks: 200B/hour, 500B/half day). The tiny beach bar/restaurant provides a sanctuary from the sun and offers decent priced food and drinks.
