Mac Bay Resort
Home of the Black Moon Party

What we say:
The new home of the Black Moon Party, Mac Bay Resort is frequented by a predominantly younger crowd, but party people of all ages stay here, and it's a fine family spot when the party's not on. This stretch of beach is the best on Ban Tai with the widest strip of softer than average sand. The staff is a hospitable, fun-loving bunch that's friendly whether it's party time or not. The cheapest rooms here are along the beach. These older, worn cement numbers are showing some age but are solid and the window screens keep out most of the bugs. Much more comfortable air-con units line the swimming pool in lovely stone and wood duplexes. These are reasonably priced considering the location and quality and the fact that this can be a big party place.

Gorgeous spot
I moved here yesterday for a bit of luxury after three nights at Two Rocks - and last night was the best sleep I've had this week! I am staying in the cheapest (500B) and most idyllically-situated bungalows, right on the beach - a gorgeous sight when you wake up in the morning. Bungalows certainly aren't perfect - expect a couple of hitches (slightly dodgy doors, electricity going down etc), but staff are quick to put these problems right. The staff themselves can sometimes come across a little unfriendly - they don't seem to be great fans of the gap year groups they play host to - but I've had no problem with them. The restaurant isn't bad, and the pool is gorgeous - though keep an eye on their long list of pool rules!! For 500B, these places are excellent value and a lap of luxury after Two Rocks!! :)

A wonderful place!
We stayed here for five nights during the Fullmoonparty and loved it! The atmosphere is very nice with many young travelers enjoying the great swimmingpool and the beautiful beach. The restaurant has an large range of great-tasting food. Highly recommended!
