Description
The party-animals perennial favourite, the best offerings at Ark Bar are in the two storey building running back through the resort's grounds. Rooms are spotless and very well maintained, though, with their glass fronted style, the ground floor rooms are anything but private. Running down the centre is a narrow though lush stripe of grenery till you reach the small pool on your left and the restaurant after that. The beach restaurant and bar play loud tunes into the early hours every night, so if you're a light sleeper, you may want to look elsewhere, or opt for a room at the rear of the resort. Staff here are great. There are also older rooms towards the beach, but unless you've got industrial grade earplugs they should be a non-starter. Very popular.

Clean rooms and clean facilities. Food was ok. You will not get a good nights sleep too often as the bar music is on well into the night. However, if you are going out every night and like your dance music like me then you will love this place.

Brilliant place - all the food was perfect, very nice rooms and friendly staff. Good if you house music continually throughout the day - lucky we do - and rooms are very quiet and set in lovely gardens

P&P Samui Resort
4 Moo 2 Chaweng Beach, Ko Samui
Owned by the same company as OP Bungalows further to the north, P&P has quite a reasonable stretch of sand out front and with the reef beginning offshore around here, the water is almost always sheltered and calm. The staff are cheery and fun and the rooms, fairly recently refurbished are plain but... more

The Chaweng Gardens Beach
162/8 Moo 2 Chaweng Beach, Ko Samui
A very popular flashpacker's choice, Chaweng Gardens has a broad range of rooms ranging from those on a budget -- or a Chaweng version of a budget anyway -- through to true flashpackers. The cheapest huts overlook the carpark and get the most noise from town, while those nearer the beach are more... more

Long Beach Lodge
14 Chaweng Beach, Ko Samui
Well-spaced out accommodation mostly in two elongated rows, Long Beach has some very well-finished and spacious bungalows. The bathrooms are airy and bright, though the baths are a bit tatty. Overall this place is quite good value, particularly as they have a range of layouts that can accommodate... more

Al's Hut
Chaweng Beach, Ko Samui
Al's has clean, no-frills concrete bungalows with air-con, hot water showers running in two long rows from the road down to the sand, set in a lovely leafy grove. There is no pool, but plenty of deckchair-free sand, a rare thing in this part of Chaweng Beach. Prices have risen at Al's and the rooms... more

The Suneast
159 Moo 2 Chaweng Beach, Ko Samui
Opened in January 2006, Suneast has sparkling new bungalows and standard rooms (the latter in a two storey building) with immaculate gardens and a very pleasing beachfront pool that gets oodles on sunshine. Rates are very reasonable and the staff are quick to offer discounts making the rooms more... more

Chaweng Chalet
162/79 Moo 2 Chaweng Beach, Ko Samui
Set on a narrow sliver of sand, Chaweng Chalet is not bad value, as the rooms are very generously sized with a split-level layout and daybed, which could easily make a triple or quad room. Friendly staff here maintain the rooms well, with the bungalows towards the beach being the most popular... more

King's Garden Resort
12 Moo 2, Chaweng Beach, Ko Samui
This friendly spot has rooms ranging from small old-style huts near the road, brand new quite funky bungalows through to a couple of rather well-placed chalets. Though the rooms are quite spacious, some of the bathrooms are a bit frayed around the edges. The setting is pleasant and the huts are... more

The Island
162/21 Moo 2 Chaweng Beach, Ko Samui
The Island has improved considerably since our last visit -- staff are friendly and chatty and the accommodation has been spruced up. Rooms are clean with hot water bathrooms, air-con, tv and firm beds. The large, spacious and very lush grounds lead down to the beach where a pool was being worked... more

Montien House
5 Moo 2 Chaweng Beach, Ko Samui
The lush gardens give Montien a true tropical feel with a good-sized beachfront pool along with a spacious beachside restaurant. The rooms come in two varieties, standards at the rear in a long-house set-up -- all well-sized and very clean while the deluve are duplex bungalows nearer the beach and... more

Silversand Resort
13/2 Moo 2 Chaweng Beach, Ko Samui
This place has two main room styles: old and ratty wooden huts, and larger concrete bungalows. The latter are decent, with some furniture and very comfortable beds and are bright and airy, though you'll need to close windows and doors for any privacy. All bathrooms are western style. The resort... more

Chaweng Center Hotel
14/41 Chaweng Beach Road, Ko Samui
Set above a row a stores, Chaweng Center Hotel caters mainly to overflow from the on-the-beach resorts in high season and to those who want hotel standards at a reasonable price in low season.
