Description
Running since 1982, Coral Bay prides itself on its low impact, ecologically-friendly approach to life and they're doing a great job. Partly destroyed by fire a few years ago, the bungalows have all been refurbished -- and rebuilt where needed -- and what stands now is a great mid-range option. Spread across ten acres, the very lush, butterfly-filled gardens hide 53 big, tastefully-decorated - no two are the same -- wood and stone bungalows, all with massive balconies though not all with water views. A large freshwater pool tempts, along with a well-positioned restaurant and bar. Staff are excellent. Rooms do not have TV - even better! There is a DVD-screening room under the restaurant. Check for internet rates.

Great big bungalows in a nice garden, but ordinary breakfast and overpriced. Location is quiet and the pool is nice but I think it's only worth 1500B low season and 2500B high season. No TVs in the room either.

Nora Beach Resort and Spa
222 Moo 2 Yai Noi Bay, Ko Samui
Just up the way from Coral Bay Resort, this large and very comfortable resort has tasteful and large contemporary Thai-style bungalows. The bathrooms are particularly good and the rooms are spotless. From some of the rear rooms it's a long walk to the beach, but there is a pool along the way to... more
