Description
When we visited here, the taskless snickering staff made us wait for twenty minutes, then advised that the hotel was absolutely full so they couldn't show us anything. So you'll need to investigate this one for yourself. Needless to say, the staff win them no points.

Excellent -

We thought Impiana was generally excellent, especially for the price. We stayed in the standard room for 2800B per night. The room was your typical western-style motel room with a well stocked minibar. Basic cable TV only was a bit disappointing at this price. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, with a large pool and plenty of sunlounges in a beautiful setting on Chaweng Noi beach. Servuce was pretty good, perhaps not quite as good as you'd except for this standard of resort. The restaurants were absolutely excellent - in fact, the food is so good at the cheaper one (Banai), there's not much point going to the expensive one (Tamarind). A very good breakfast buffet is included. A few corners were cut - only one communal copy of the daily newspaper, and it was a day behind, and you pay through the nose for Internet access. The location is a 200B taxi from central Chaweng, which means you get peace and quiet, but also means some inconvenience, as there is no 7-11, internet cafe etc nearby. Generally, though, we had a brilliant time.

The Imperial Samui
86 Moo 3, Chaweng Noi Beach, Ko Samui
This unusual Meditarranean style resort is a refreshing change from the dozens of contemporary Thai-style places springing up on the island. Rooms are spotless and well-designed and the staff very courteous. A couple of restaurants are on site, along with some open-air dining areas. The pool is... more

The Fair House
124-124/1-2 Moo 3 Chaweng Noi Beach, Ko Samui
Whatever you do, don't try to walk from the beach to reception -- they're a ludicrous distance apart and its nearly all uphill to get you. Heart attacks by the quaint three-hole golf course aside, Fair House has a broad range of accommodation options, and although they are all adequate, the whole... more
