Thongson Bay Bungalows is perched on the rocks overlooking Tongson Bay.
Some with two bedrooms, and none have air-con, but fans are provided. The bungalows are simple, but more spacious than the average backpacker accommodation. The seafront units have been built around the rocks, and in some rooms, large boulders protrude from the walls. These seafront bungalows offer privacy, and have to be accessed by steep stairs leading over the rocks. Balconies offer seating and hammocks and endless views over the bay. The on-site restaurant is a local favourite, offering good value food. The resort lies next to the five-star Melati Hotel, meaning that the beach is well-maintained. The beach is good for swimming, and there are good snorkelling spots between the large boulders at either end of the beach. Thongson Bay Bungalows is about 400m past Big Buddha. Turn left between a Family Mart and 7-eleven, follow the road all the way to Melati. Just before Melati, turn right, and follow the road down to the beach.
