Hua Laem Resort
A great hideaway

What we say:
On the rocky headland to the south of Sunrise Beach, Hua Laem has a good selection of affordable bungalows at various elevations along the hill, all with amazing views out to sea and across the bay. The simple huts here are well-built and clean though the beds are quite hard. Tom and Tik, the friendly Norwegian and Thai owners, are very hospitable and also have a comfortable restaurant at the top of the hill. The sea is accessible for some decent swimming and snorkelling though it requires a rocky descent that can be perilous. It's much more convenient and more peaceful than making the epic journey back to the always crowded Sunrise Beach.

Great place!
I stayed there during a Full Moon party and it's a great place! It's not that far from Had Rin, taking a nice little path along the shore and you're in the village in less than five minutes walk. Very close to the nice and calm Leela beach. Fantastic view, nice crew, clean wooden bungalows, only drawback (for some) can be the noise coming from the bars of the sunrise beach at night...
