Drop In Club Resort and Spa

Haad Rin's Jekyll and Hyde hotel

What we say: 3.5 stars

This is a fancy midrange place away from the beaches towards the centre of Haad Rin. The rooms are located in two distinct areas an ugly, bright blue, five storey building called Sunrise Hotel, and a far more attractive, multi-level northern Lanna style structure set around the swimming pool — one which can tend towards murky and greenish at times — called Sunset Villas. The two different sides are worlds apart, with the blue side being home to party animals after cheap online accommodation, and the more classy side appealing to mid-range tourists. The rooms are warm and comfortable, all equipped with a slew of amenities and classy decor. Internet service (3B/minute) and laundry 60B/kilo) are also provided here for above average prices as well as a shopping centre, gym and even an on-site doctor — party till you puke! This is a good choice for more comfort away from the beach and is also a fine family choice with a children's pool, wheelchair or buggy access and babysitting services in the Sunset Villas side. Also worth noting as the hotel permanently seems to be expanding, there is nearly always construction going on.
