What we say:

Haad Rin Resort, in the centre of the party scene on Sunrise Beach, has a guest house building on the road and several rows of wood and concrete bungalows lining its sandy grounds between the road and the beach. The rooms are clean but very basic and somewhat battered from years of party abuse. That said they are one of the only affordable options left on Sunrise Beach, and the overall feel of the resort is a villagey, garden atmosphere. This is a great place to meet people, and a perfect crash pad for the party. The laid-back beach restaurant has a good vegetarian menu and also makes good Italian, Thai and fish dishes and plays movies throughout the day as guests mend their hangovers and rest up for nightly parties. On Full Moon Night they also have a compulsory dinner. The popular Cactus Bar is right next door so invest in some industrial strength earplugs if you plan to sleep.
