Seaside
Good value

What we say:
Seaside is one of the best values spots around, with a great atmosphere and charming service. Small wooden huts with fan or air-con and some huge bungalows for three people are scattered around a large grassy grove. All rooms are well-built and very clean with large bathrooms, and they're easy on the bank account as well. The cosy little brick restaurant is shady and cool has a great selection of Italian, English and cheap Thai and Chinese cuisine. This is a good place to hang out and soak up the vibes. The staff is also very accommodating. A good choice.

Fantastic!
This resort is lovely. We stayed in one of the air-con wooden huts for 500 Bt a night - very clean, ensuite bathroom and comfortable bed. Nice porch too with room to string our hammock up! The restaurant/bar was great, both in decor, atmosphere, food and very friendly and welcoming staff. The bar manager took time to talk to us and organised a very good value and good quality scooter for us to hire so we could see the rest of the island. The resort manager also offered internet and laundry services. The resort was quiet, and a 10 minute walk down the beach to the more noisy Haad Rin bars and Sunrise Beach so we were able to go out but not be kept awake when we didn't want to. Only downsides, the resort was on a beautiful-looking beach but the sand was gungy in the sea and full of water reeds so we went to other beaches for our snorkling. Also the TV/DVD player was broken while we were there so we had to go into town to watch the football matches or films. Overall, would highly recommend Seaside and would definately stay there again :)

Excellent
I originally planned to stop here for just a few days but ended up staying nearly two weeks and I would totally recommend it. Very nice huts, excellent food, nice garden setting, friendly and helpful staff, large screen TV with all the latest DVDs, Premiership football -- basically everything (almost) you could want from somewhere to stay. The only small criticism is that it's a ten minute walk from Haad Rin town and sunrise beach, although if you're after peace and tranquillity then that's not a bad thing. The prices have gone up though. I paid 200B a night, although this was over Christmas/New Year, i.e. the peak season, but it was still excellent value.
