Serenity Bungalows
Great views, quiet spot

What we say:
Serenity Hill, atop Sunrise Beach's northern cliff, is more serene and relaxed than the bustling beach side resorts, but it also has a couple of happening bars nearby. The Mellow Mountain Bar and its own Freedom Bar attract crowds throughout the afternoon and evening with DJs at Freedom many nights. Lots of stairs lead to the wooden bungalows with stone bathrooms. These look worn outside but are solid and clean inside with soft beds and fresh bathrooms. Depending on the position, these bungalows have lovely views either out to sea or overlooking the bay and beach, and small decks with hammocks are a good place from which to enjoy the breeze away from most of the madness below.

The christmas tree
A great spot on Haad Rin and far enough away from the crazy end of the beach to allow a good night's sleep. The bungalows are all out on the rocks, so it's a short stroll down to the beach. At night they light up the restaurant and it looks like a Christmas tree - kind of cool as we'd never stayed in a Christmas tree before.
