Lotus is a very friendly spot popular with divers and backpackers.
A large variety of rooms are on offer. Some of the classier block rooms overlook a gorgeous pool, while clusters of worn but well-sized bungalows sit further towards the main road in a luscious garden. The block rooms come with all the modern amenities visitors might expect – a TV, air-con, hot water, plush beds, a bathtub in some – while the budget choices are as basic as they come. The bungalows aren't much to look at -- large wooden units with faded exteriors and green roofs -- but they are well-sized and great for lazing about with a good book. The beach bar is among Ko Tao's most happening spots at night and attracts party people from around the island. For a good night's sleep, grab a room away from the beach and not too close to the Office Pool Bar. Lotus also offers an inexpensive dorm option, which is pretty standard as dorms go but does include pool access. Be sure to check out the fire dancers on the beach outside of Lotus Bar at least once during your stay.
