Sairee Hut offers a multitude of inexpensive huts just off the beach that are very popular among backpackers and divers. Significant discounts are available for students of Sairee Hut's PADI dive school, which offers a full range of courses. Sairee Hut's cheapest bungalows line a sandy courtyard near the beach. They are very basic and small but kept in good shape, and they all have good-sized decks. Newer, slightly more expensive rooms are located up the hill and are much larger and immaculately clean. These rooms, though, are not as private and several are connected in a series of buildings. Sairee Hut has a laid-back bar and a charming beachfront restaurant with excellent food and seafood barbecues, a great place to enjoy a beautiful Ko Tao sunset. They provide motorbike rentals, laundry service and a travel agency, and Thai cooking courses can also be arranged. A very friendly spot.

Beware the bed bugs! -

We stayed here in July for 5 nights and after 2 nights my Husband was covered in bites which itched frantically. He'd had beg bug bites before but couldn't understand why I hadn't suffered if this was them. We checked Wikapedia and some people don't react.
We told the Management who changed our mattress after a lot of hounding, they didn't believe us. We explained all about bed bugs and they finally gave in. We found out then they had just stuck the mattress in the sun hoping that would get rid of them.
He woke up again the next morning with more bites so they must have been in the base and/or the curtains. We complained again and they moved us to another room but they then put 3 girls straight into our old room without doing anything about the bugs.
We were in room 11, one of the rows of rooms.
They look really clean and nice but don't let this fool you.
We had to pay to have ALL our clothes washed so we wouldn't take them with us.
Don't stay there!
