A very friendly spot
Ko Tao is so big, we’ve split it up into areas, select one of the below for detailed accommodation and food listings in that area. Sights and general overviews for Ko Tao as a whole can be found via the icons above. Don’t know where to start? Read an overview of Ko Tao’s different areas.
Sairee Hut offers a multitude of inexpensive huts just off the beach that are very popular among backpackers and divers.
Significant discounts are available for students of Sairee Hut's PADI dive school, which offers a full range of courses. Sairee Hut's cheapest bungalows line a sandy courtyard near the beach. They are very basic and small but kept in good shape, and they all have good-sized decks. Newer, slightly more expensive rooms are located up the hill and are much larger and immaculately clean. These rooms, though, are not as private and several are connected in a series of buildings. Sairee Hut has a laidback bar and a charming beachfront restaurant, with excellent food and seafood barbecues – it's another great place to enjoy a Ko Tao sunset. The friendly, professional staff provide motorbike rentals, laundry service and a travel agency.
