Pen's has a mixed bag of bungalow options to suit most budgets. The cheapest huts are weathered and really pretty crappy, while some newer Thai style huts with carved wooden features are in much better shape. A handful of bungalows sit on the beach, but most are packed together in a few lines behind them. The shabby old rooms are of a similar quality inside as out, but others are spacious and clean, though the bathrooms feel a bit cramped, so don't try to pack too many friends in at one time. A good-sized mini mart and internet cafe are provided, massage (250-350B/hour) is available and the restaurant is mostly inexpensive, though it dishes out some spendier steaks and seafood. The nearby Chai beach bar is a cool place to enjoy a drink and relaxed vibes, but it can be noisy at night, so light sleepers beware.

Good For The Price -

I've stayed in three places on this beach, and this is my second favourite. Good prices. Basic, clean rooms. Pen & her staff are nice, helpful people. The food is good. They have a small bar with loud music at night next to their concrete huts (which are supposed to be the best places they offer!?). I didn't have trouble sleeping in the cabins, as they are far enough away from the music (in my opinion).
