Description
A very laid-back spot, Coconut Beach provides very comfortable accommodation at good prices as well as helpful, friendly service. The host here is quite the talker and will tell you everything you want to know and more about this area and its activities. Most of the bungalows sprawl up the hill overlooking the beach, while just one sits at the edge of the sand. A handful of older wooden bungalows provide very cheap lodging and feature good, comfortable beds, new fixtures in the bathrooms and plenty of space to keep luggage out of the way. Newer, larger concrete bungalows provide more space and comfort and the same beds for a little more money, and remain a great deal. All rooms here are well-maintained and clean. The relaxed restaurant makes wonderful Thai food and fresh seafood at cheap prices. A secluded and peaceful place, Coconut Beach also helps guests get around the island with taxis departing for Thong Sala daily at 10:30 and returning at 13:00 (80B/person). Transportation to all variety of moon parties costs 150B/person.

Coconut beach was a great place to stay for us. The rooms up the hill were very comfy with an easy walk to the beach and a balcony with chairs and table to chill out on. The staff provide great entertainment and are always trying to help you out as best they can. I can understand the bellow comment from stacycal however after staying here a while you know that this is an in joke with staff and long term guests. We snorkeled and kayaked around the bay and ate the great food at the restaurant. Unfortunately it is very far from town and quiet expensive to get anywhere via taxi leaving you feeling a bit trapped. I would not recommend hiring a scooter unless you drive one at home as roads here are very rough. Also if arriving during peak times I would recommend getting to Coconut early as they don't have a very good booking system which can often leave people without a room for the night although they will help you find alt. accommodation. Other than that it was great!

We only ate at the restaurant here. After all the positive reviews I read, I was surprised to find it disappointing. The food was average and the hostess constantly hovered, trying to entice the male members of our party with bar-girl speak (I think you come back na, have everything you want na). Yuck, not exactly what we were looking for. Go to Ocean View instead!

We stayed at coral bay bungalows for 8 nights and really didn't want to leave! It is such a beautifull laid back spot i would reccomend it to anyone trying to escape thailands overpopulated tourist spots.
The food was excellent and the staff will bend over backwards to help you (there are some excellent english speakers), Go here...you won't regret it!

The beach here is beautiful and without the party people. We stayed in the huts at the beach, they had 3 beds.
Kitchen is oke, not perfect. To get to the town you need to use the taxi, the road is to steep and sandy for a moterbike.
This is a good spot for a few days relaxing.

We stayed here for 3 days to relax and had the most amazing time. The beach here is pretty much deserted and they have a kayak and snorkelling gear which they will lend you free of charge. The staff are fantastic and really friendly and I highly recommend this pace if you want to chill. Only one downside is that there is no electricity after about midnight. Apart from that it was brilliant.

The bungalows at Coral Bay are not on or near the beach but rather sit along Haad Khom's western cliff providing some lovely sea views. The bungalows are very basic wooden units with stone bathrooms for a bit of pizzaz and are quite cheap. This is a quiet and peaceful spot, and most huts are... more
