Description
A very friendly family-run place on western Chaloklum beach, Wattana provides comfortable and inexpensive acomodations on a lovely stretch of beach -- though the water here doesn't get very deep. Most rooms are on or near the beach, and all have a pleasant view of the sea from the well-shaded grounds. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a cluttered reception area at the back of the restaurant. While not the best first impression, the second greeting is helpful and friendly service. The bungalows are all clean and well-maintained, and even the tiny, most basic huts have large decks with hammocks, a table and chairs for relaxing with the view. A great budget spot on a fine stretch of beach.

While boasting a beachfront location, Malibu sits partially on the beach, but most bungalows are actually behind a small lagoon that empties in to the sea here. Nonetheless, the beach here is not bad, though it sits relatively near the central piers, and a bridge across the lagoon takes guests to a... more
