Smile Beach is actually a few minutes' walk from the beach, but it is a very peaceful and quiet spot perfect for families and mid-range travellers. The beautifully designed Lanna-style bungalows blend well with their garden setting. Various sized rooms are available with fan or air-con. The prices are quite reasonable in the low season (September to mid-December and April through June) but nearly double at peak times (mid-December through January). Nonetheless, the rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the service is friendly and professional. The restaurant here has a good selection of steak and seafood at good prices as well as cheap Thai food and an admirable cocktail list. Guests are served in private salas, and a free pool table is available for patrons. All rooms also come with breakfast. Just off the road, Smile Cafe has fresh brewed espresso, pastries and internet access. This is a very comfortable choice, and free pickup from the pier makes it easy to get here.

By that we mean they show up, in person, and pretend to be either be a potential guest, or somebody looking for a room for a friend or relative. Where possible the researcher will inspect at least a couple of rooms. Pleasant Place - 27th August, 2008
Booked into here going by above, paid 1350B, breakfast not included. Paid for breakfast, not cheap and then got charged extra for 2nd cup of coffee. Also had to pay for pickup 150b each. Nothing like its add. Still a nice place and nice people but we checked out the very next day and went and stayed on the beach at Asia Bungalows which was a bit cheaper and far superior.

inviting place, warm family - 27th October, 2006
We were here for a acouple of nights. The place, still pretty spanking new, is well done, very comfortable and hardly a couple of minutes walk to the beach. If you're not hung up about staying *on* the beach, its a great option. Their cafe is already up and running as well as a swanky internet setup with 8-10 stations. Their main restaurant should be ready before the New Year, according to Tony (owner who runs it with his brother, girlfriend and mum).
He will pick you up from Thong Sala when you arrive and most likely drop you when you need to leave as well..Simple, good people who made our stay there very pleasant.
