Over Bay Bungalows
A solid choice

What we say:
Over Bay has a good selection of inexpensive basic bungalows for backpackers and a couple of newer deluxe air-con units with satellite TV which are popular for longer stays. One could probably lose several kilos hiking up and down the stairs here, but Jar and Nut, the friendly owners, make the trek worthwhile, providing spacious and clean rooms of a decent quality. They're mostly well-built, but the smallest huts have enough gaps to let a horde of insects and small reptilian visitors in. If that sort of thing doesn't bother you, the views and cool breeze at this great height are wonderful. The restaurant has good view as well, but the menu is just average.

Great Pool & Views
We were approached by a guy on the bus touting Haad Yao Over Bay - he showed us some pictures, promised us 400 baht a night for a double fan room w. bath & hot water. Also told us we would get a free taxi ride to the spot. And lo and behold all of it came true! The room was a modest fan bungalow with a deck & a great view. Hammock big enough for two. Super great swimming pool up the stairs, amazing view from the pool (even had a waterfall). Stayed here two nights. Very nice. Though just down the street- JB Huts has cheaper food - and very delicious!!
